Fiona Cooper is New Zealand Director of the Australia New Zealand Leadership Forum, a role she has performed on behalf of BusinessNZ since 2018, having been involved in the ANZLF Secretariat since it was established in 2011. Fiona is also an Associate Director of the New Zealand International Business Forum.  Fiona advises clients on government relations, trade policy and communications, drawing on 34 years of experience in the private and public sectors. She was Executive Director of the NZ-US Council 2014-18; Vice-Chair of the East Asia Business Council’s Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Working Group 2013-2020 and Lead Advisor for NZ’s APEC Business Advisory Council members 2011-14. Fiona previously worked for Bank of New Zealand, Fonterra and New Zealand Dairy Board and was involved in setting up the Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand. Her career began in the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade including a secondment to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1989 and a trade policy posting at the New Zealand Embassy in Washington DC 1992-1996. She has a BA (Hons) in political science and history from the University of Canterbury and has undertaken leadership programmes with INSEAD and Institute for Strategic Leadership.
